SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22: A meeting of the Committee on Ethics of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Abdul Rahim Rather.
Legislators, Abdul Majid Larmi and Syed Mohammad Baqir Rizvi attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the committee vibrant and result oriented.
Threadbare discussions were held on the functioning of the Committee and the Chairman of the Committee said that legislators must follow the ethical and moral values in and outside the house so the dignity of the members is maintained.
The Chairman of the Committee sought views and suggestions from the members of the Committee so that their decisions to be incorporated in the report of the Committee.
It was decided in the meeting that the Committee will conduct the tour in different districts of the state and will held the meetings with the district administrations. The main motive of these visits would be to aware district administration how to attend the affairs of the legislators during the visits and functions for maintaining the dignity of the members at any level. It was also decided that the Committee will conduct its first tour to Leh/Kargil (Ladakh) to interact with the local peoples and civil administration.
Among others, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M R Singh and other senior officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
