Resai, Mar.05 (KS) : Reasi Police successfully identified and booked three individuals involved in creating a fake terror threat and impersonating as a terrorist commander in the Chassana area of Mahore sub-division.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a case has been registered in the Chassana police station.
He said the investigation began after a complaint was filed by Jahangir Ahmed, who claimed to have received a terror threat over a domestic matter. However, during the investigation, suspicions turned towards the complainant and it was discovered that he, along with two others, had conspired to target two individuals by creating a fake terror threat.
The official further said that the accused went to great lengths by crafting a realistic-looking terror threat message and circulating it among themselves.
The police swiftly took action and registered a case against the three accused under relevant sections of the law, including 419, 177, 182, 506, 507, and 109. The operation was led by SHO PS Chassana, Ranjeet Rao he said.
Meanwhile, SSP Reasi Ms Mohita Sharma IPS expressed her satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing that such acts of rumour mongering and impersonation would not be tolerated. She reassured the public that anyone involved in spreading false threats or causing panic would be dealt with strictly according to the law. (KS)
