Srinagar, Aug 27 (GNS): Renowned broadcaster and editor of Sheherbeen – popular news broadcast of All India Radio (AIR) Srinagar – Maqsood Ahmed was felicitated on Friday with the National AIR Award 2021 from All India Institute of Self Local Government Mumbai (AIILSG), a premier government recognized Institute of Mumbai.
The award, as per GNS, was presented to Maqsood Ahmad, popular in social circles as Maqsood Uri, by the Advisor to incumbent J&K LG, Farooq Khan in a ceremony held at SP College M.A Road Srinagar. Maqsood has become the first journalist from AIR Srinagar station having been honoured with the prestigious award.
Pertinent to mention here that Maqsood a post-graduate (PG) in Mass Communication and Journalism from Kashmir University and hailing from a far flung area of Uri is a post-graduate (PG) in Mass Communication and Journalism from Kashmir University.
Among others felicitated by AIILSG on the occasion included popular NDTV Anchor Ravish Kumar, former Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Masood Samoon, Director Doordarshan Srinagar Dr N S Manhas, Producer DDK Gulzaar Ahmed Lone, famous Kashmiri Sufi singer Abdul Rashid Hafiz and Sheena singer Yousuf Naseem.
