Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Friday withdrew the protest programme after the Supreme Court deferred the hearing of petitions against Article 35-A.
According to a statement issued by the resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, the August 29 shutdown call also stands cancelled.
Pertinently, the apex court has agreed to hear pleas against the Article 35-A after Diwali. The Article is relating to special rights and privileges of permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
The resistance leaders had issued a protest calendar to pressurize the apex court.
