Srinagar, Nov 5, KNT: The JK Peace Forum, a prominent Pandit organization, has reiterated its call to restore Article 370, emphasizing its crucial role in protecting Jammu and Kashmir’s unique cultural heritage and autonomy.

Satish Mahaldar, Forum President, expressed disappointment over the lukewarm response to the resolution seeking Article 370’s restoration, tabled in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. “This is not just a political demand, but a call for justice, rooted in the deep concerns and aspirations of the people,” Mahaldar said in a statement to the news agency Kashmir News Trust.

Mahaldar expressed disappointment that only a few lawmakers supported the resolution in the Assembly, calling it a call for justice. He stressed that the demand for restoration is rooted in the deep concerns and aspirations of the people of the region.

He said that the JK Peace Forum has consistently advocated for the restoration of Article 370, alongside the return of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and statehood.

“The Forum believes that this demand is essential for promoting inclusive economic development, protecting the rights of minorities, and ensuring the region’s cultural identity.
