Srinagar, Dec 09: In view of the shutdown and protest call given by the Joint Resistance leadership, the district administration Srinagar on Saturday decided to impose restrictions Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of nine Police Stations.
An official in the district administration told local news agency that the restrictions under section 144 CrPC will be imposed in Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of nine Police Stations.
“Areas falling under strict restrictions include Rainawari, Nowhatta, Khanyar, M.R.Gunj, Safakadal and Maisuma while the areas falling under three Police Stations including Kralkhud, Kothibagh and R.M.Bagh will remain under restrictions partially,” he said.
He said that the restrictions will be imposed as a precautionary measure.
Earlier, the JRL comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for a complete shutdown on Sundayin view of the World Human Rights Day.
The JRL is also scheduled to carry out a protest rally from Kokerbazar towards UN office Sonwar.
