GANDERBAL, JUNE 12: Sarpanch Association Ganderbal today called upon the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal and apprised him about various grievances and situation arisen amid lockdown in their respective Panchayats.
They raised the developmental issues in their respective Panchayats besides the issues being faced while working with other departments.
After a brief deliberation, the DC assured them that all issued raised will be taken into consideration and will be discussed with the concerned departments.
While interacting with the representatives, the DC said that district administration is fully abreast about the situation that has arisen due to lockdown amid Corona epidemic. In this regard the district administration has prioritized all such activities which can generate more man days so that labours/workers can earn their livelihood who are most hit due to lockdown.
The DC applauded their role in helping the district administration for mitigating spread of corona virus infection in the district which was not possible without their support. To make the district corona free, he urged them to inculcate the sense of following guidelines related to COVID-19 like using face masks, maintaining social distancing, etc. at the grass root level.
Meanwhile representatives of Beopar Mandal Sonamarg Ganderbal also met the Deputy Commissioner and apprised him about problems and issues being faced in view of COVID-19 lockdown.
They appealed the Deputy Commissioner to ease out the restrictions at Sonamarg as district is already listed in orange zone so that they can resume their business activities here.
DC assured them that their issue will be redressed after reviewing the laid down instructions like maintaining social distance in market places, use of sanitizers and hygiene/sanitation.
