GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 04: In view of Mera Maati Mera Desh, Phase-ll, District Administration Ganderbal today organised an impressive programme to carry several activities under the campaign here at BDO office Ganderbal.
The programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah.
The event witnessed soil collection and tribute paying to brave hearts in the presence of Chairperson BDC Ganderbal, prominent citizens and PRIs.
During the program several activities were carried out as envisaged under the second leg of the campaign.
The soil collected from villages of the district in Amrit Kalash was mixed and was poured into a large Kalash, thus bringing together symbolically the offering from all house holds.
On the occasion a colourful cultural programme was also Presented by the local artists which was highly appreciated.
The programme witnessed the active involvement of PRIs, volunteers of NSS,NYKS,NCC, Bharat Scouts and
Guides, Anganwari Workers and other youth voulanteers.
Pertinently from 28th to 30th October 2023, Volunteers in traditional dresses from all the States will march on Kartavyapath New Delhi along with Amrit Kalash. This soil from all Villages and Blocks of the Nation will then be used to create Amrit Vatika in the memory of brave hearts. A memorial dedicated to the memory of the people who sacrificed their lives for the country will be established near the Kartavya Path.
