Ganderbal, November 4, 2024: Under the instructions and supervision of Mr. Abdul Nasir, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ganderbal, Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, today conducted a surprise visit to various institutions of District Ganderbal in order to assess their functioning and effectiveness in delivering services to the needy and underprivileged.

At first instance Secretary DLSA inspected, One Stop Sakhi Centre, at Wayil Ganderbal, thereafter Aatha e Waqar Old Age Home, Wayil Ganderbal, Front Office, Munsiff Court Kangan and PAALASH, Kangan.

During the visit to one stop sakhi centre Wayil Ganderbal, Secretary instructed the administrator of the centre with instructions to enhance support services for women in all cases. He instructed to provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence, with aim to facilitate immediate access to medical, legal, psychological, and counseling support under one roof. The Secretary’s visit and instructions to the administrator of the centre demonstrates the commitment to ensuring that these services are delivered effectively.

During visit to Aatha e Waqar Old Age Home, Wayil Ganderbal, he ensures the welfare and dignity of senior citizens. The Secretary directed the in-charge to identify cases of senior citizens having family and property, enabling the authority to ensure social security to the old aged at an earliest. Additionally, the Secretary emphasized the need for providing different equipments like hearing aids and walking sticks, to the old aged persons residing at Ahata e Waqar. The Secretary’s instructions demonstrate a commitment to promoting the well-being and dignity of senior citizens particularly in District Ganderbal. By ensuring maintenance from family members and providing essential disability equipment, the authority aims to enhance the quality of life of these individuals.

The Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, conducted a review of the Front Office at Munsiff Court Kangan to ensure seamless access to justice for the public. This effort aims to making legal services more accessible and efficient. By facilitating the front office, the Secretary aims to create a more user-friendly environment for citizens seeking free and competent legal assistance. This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, in promoting access to justice for all.

Moreover Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal, along with Ms. Mufti Nahida, Chairperson of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan, also visited PAALASH Kangan, in order to assess the conditions of the children’s residing there. During the visit, they interacted with the children and staff, taking note of their concerns. One pressing issue brought to their attention was the lack of a vehicle for medical emergencies. The Secretary assured that this matter would be taken up with the concerned department to ensure the institution’s residents receive proper care.

This initiative demonstrates the commitment of DLSA Ganderbal in promoting the rights of children’s by awareing them for their righs. The Secretary’s visit and subsequent actions aim to bridge the gap between institutions and the underprivileged, ensuring that they receive essential services and support from the District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal. All the institution’s were fully made aware regarding providing of free competent legal services to the children’s, women’s and the senior citizens from DLSA Ganderbal.
