Kupwara, May 16: (GNS) Deputy Director Forest Protection Force – K-06 Natnussa – has put on suspension four staffers, pending enquiry, on accusations of delinquency and connivance after the department officials seized a tractor alongwith illicit timber from Compartment number 21 at FPF Gama Unit in Natnussa earlier this week.

A suspension order, of which a copy is in possession of Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS), states that the seizure of vehicle (Tractor) along with illicit limber Deodar/Round 33 No’s equaling to 111.00 from Compartment Number 21-B/K adjacent to FPF Gana Unit HQ KO6 Natnussa during intervening night of 09-10 May 2021 was effected by a team of Forest Territorial officials under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Kamraj Forest Division Zangli Kupwara.

As reported by AD (Adm) K06 some FPF personnel were physically present at Unit HQ at the time of seizure of the vehicle whose delinquency of legitimate duties and the connivance in to the instant case can’t be ruled out. The accused officials, as per the matrix of the order, have been identified as Farooq Ahmed Magray – FPF Guard – Bashir Ahmed Tantray, Ab. Qayoom Lohar and Mohd Maqbool Dar – all FPF Watchers.

Pending enquiry into the matter, the accused FPF personnel have been placed under suspension with immediate effect for their grave delinquency, towards their legitimate duties and are attached to Reporting Center Sogam till further orders, it says.

The suspended officials shall be entitled as a matter of right to the subsistence allowances under rules, subject to the production of a certificate that they are not engaged in any other department, business, profession etc., the order underlines.

The appointed enquiry officer Ghulam Nabi Mir AD-II NI/SL has been asked to conduct an in-depth enquiry in the case.

The Inquiry officer by virtue of the order shall be free to frame a committee of three officials at his own level who will co-opt the enquiry officer in conducting a fare and transparent enquiry and submit a detailed report within a week’s time positively, it further says. (GNS)
