LEH, SEPTEMBER 28: On the second day of his Leh tour, the Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today inspected various ongoing projects under PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control and Igoo-Phey Irrigation Canal here today.
During the visit, the Minister inspected the ongoing earth excavation/ laying of Sewerage and Drinking water pipe lines at Chubi Leh under UIDSSMT scheme and instructed PHE officials to complete all the works in remaining working season.
Later, the minister inspected the Water supply project for Bomb Gharh at Saboo road which is being executed under AMRUT. En route, the Minister also inspected the ongoing construction works of flood protection and training of Saboo Nallah which is being executed by I&FC division Leh. The Engineers of I&FC apprised the minister that Rs. 47 crore is sanctioned for the project and till date 60% work is complete.
He also inspected the Water Supply Scheme projects of Solar Colony, Shey and Chushot under NRDWP where Exn. PHE apprised the Minister about the functioning, water supply coverage capacity and additional requirements of these projects in detail.
Later, the Minister visited Hemis Monastery which is the famous and largest monastery of Ladakh and prayed for world peace. Responding to the demand of Lamas of Monastery, the Minster assured to provide one water lifting pump for the monastery.
