Srinagar, June 05 CNS : Only a few days after when the government barred the private labs and hospitals from not charging more than 400 Rs for Covid Testing, Shifa hospital Srinagar is looting and fleecing the suspected Covid by charging 600Rs for Rapid Antigen Covid test.
One such person namely Mohammad Yusuf Bhat contacted CNS team along with the receipt provided by Shifa hospital Srinagar which clearly shows that hospitals is exhorbitant rates from suspected Covid patients.
Meanwhile a group of such patients visited CNS office at Press Enclave Srinagar and demanded action against the hospital authorities.
When contacted Director Health Services Kashmir Dr. Mushtaq, he said, ” the circular has been issued by secretariat and strict action will be taken whosoever the violator will be” he assured.
It is pertinent to mention that a circular dated 1st of June 2021 mentioned that no private laboratory shall charge any amount more than Rs 400 for RT-PCR test for suspected Covid 19 patients. (CNS)
