The locals of Pinjura and Puhnoo villages of Shopian district on tuesday held protests in their area demanding the removal of the Army camp which killed four civilians in a shootout with militants on Sunday evening. A militant was also killed in the shootout.
Scores of locals staged protests and raised anti-army slogans demanding the removal of Puhnoo camp. The army camp at Puhnoo village according to locals was established in September 2016 amid the uprising.
They said that some protesters also marched towards the Mini Secretariat Shopian where they clashed with govt forces. The forces used tear smoke shells against the stone pelting protesters, witnesses said.
