Ganderbal : The T-20 Knock out Cricket Tournament which is being conducted at Govt. Higher Secondary School Safapora was inaugurated today by Principal Govt. Higher Secondary Safapora.
In continuation of efforts to encourage sports in Kashmir and to divert the minds of youth from drugs the youths of Safapora have taken an initiative showcasing their talent and commitment of Kashmiri youth in sports.
A total of 32 teams from all parts of Kashmir Valley are participating in the tournament which is being played on a knockout basis.
The chief guest Aaqib altaf Parray , in his address to the teams, encouraged the young players to utilize this golden opportunity not only to showcase their talents but also to imbibe some of the most important life lessons through the medium of sports.
He appreciated the efforts of organising committee for conducting the event and was pleased to see the large numbers of enthusiastic audience that had come to see the match.
An inaugural match was played between AR Steel Shilwat and Mansbal Kangaroos in which Mansbal Kangaroos defeats AR Steels to mark the beginning of the Tournament.
