Sonamarg, February 25(KNZ): Tourists visiting the breathtaking snow-covered landscapes of Sonamarg are facing a major setback as exorbitant snow biking charges leave them frustrated. Many visitors have expressed outrage, calling the skyrocketing prices “unfair” and “exploitative.”
Reports indicate that local operators are charging anywhere between ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 for a short ride, Travelers argue that the absence of fixed pricing and government oversight has allowed operators to take advantage of peak-season demand.
“It’s unfair! We came here for the experience, but the rates are ridiculous. There should be some standard pricing,” said a tourist from Delhi. Many disgruntled visitors have also taken to social media, urging authorities to intervene and regulate the pricing.
Adding to their frustration, tourists pointed out the lack of a visible rate list at the site. “There is no rate list board here for tourists to check the prices,” said one visitor, raising concerns about transparency and potential overcharging.
Tourists are now urging higher authorities to step in and address the issue by implementing standardized pricing and stricter regulations(KNZ)
