Srinagar: The season’s first snowfall on Saturday witnessed huge traffic snarls at many in this capital city leaving commuters fuming in anger over the alleged mismanagement of traffic police.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader that hundreds of vehicles were stranded at Maulana Azad and Residency road after this capital city witnesses a light spell of snowfall this afternoon.
The situation, witnesses was no better around Jehangir Chowk, as hundreds of vehicles came to a halt due to the alleged mishandling of traffic by the policemen.
“It took me an hour to reach Lal Chowk from Hyderpora due to traffic snarls. At a few places, the cops diverted the traffic causing more inconvenience to the commuters,” Bilal Ahmad, a local said.
Ahmad said that crucial crossing and junctions in this capital city were left unmanned by the traffic police making the situation more worse.
