Baramulla, 24 Jan : Sopore Police have successfully arrested two drug peddlers and seized contraband Substances in their ongoing efforts to eliminate drug-related issues from society.
During patrolling at Tujjer Shareef Sopore, a police team led by SHO PS Bomai Insp. Nissar Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, intercepted an individual identified as Abdul Hameed Lone S/O Mohammad Ramzan Lone R/O Tujjer Shareef Sopore.
Upon his search, the police recovered 20 grams of contraband Heroine like substance.
A case FIR No. 03/2025 has been filed under the relevant sections of the law, at Police Station Bomai and an investigation has begun.
Similarly, a naka was placed at Behrampora Drusoo Rafiabad by a team of Police Post Watergam led by IC PP Watergam PSI Aijaz Ahmad, apprehended one person identified as Shabir Ahmad Ganie S/O Mohammad Yousuf Ganie resident of Behrampora.
During the search Police Party recovered 1200 grams of contraband charas like substance from his possession.
Case FIR No. 05/2025, under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been initiated.
