Bandipora, Jan 29: District Employment department Bandipora has registered more than 1250 unemployed youth of District Bandipora in last one month who were not registered with the employment department.
Career Counseling Officer Saimia Bhat said as many as 7750 educated unemployed youth including 6500 Post-graduates have registered themselves with district employment and counseling centers till date.
She said the department is making a data base of unemployed youths so that they are properly guided until they are able to get their jobs. She said continuous efforts are being made to counsel such youths to avail benefit of various ongoing centrally sponsored schemes aimed at helping such youth in establishing income generating units.
Bhat said the Government is making all possible efforts in providing gainful employment to the unemployed youth of the J&K, but it may not be possible for the Government to provide government jobs to all the educated unemployed. Under these circumstances, possibilities have to be explored for absorbing the youth by way of creating job opportunities in other areas also. She said for this purpose, the government needs a fair idea about the number of unemployed youths and their education background so that policies are made accordingly.
She said the Employment Department has been making efforts to create opportunities of Employment for the unemployed youth through various schemes, besides, creating awareness among the youth through Career Counseling and holding of job awareness programmes.
The Counseling Officer Saimia Bhat said the department also provides counseling/guidance to the educated unemployed youth for various competitive examinations being held by the State and Central recruitment agencies.
