Continuing its drive against social evils, Srinagar Police have arrested five gamblers from a gambling site.
Following an input about gambling activities in Dar Mohalla, Dal Lake, a police party led by Incharge Police Post/River Police Dal Lake Shri Ghulam Mustafa under the supervision of SDPO Nehru Park Dr. Sachit Sharma-JKPS raided a gambling site and apprehended five gamblers on spot. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Officers have also seized playing cards and stake money of ₹4030 from the gamblers.
Case FIR No.25/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation into the matter has been initiated. Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. General Public has applauded this act of Police. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
