Srinagar, September 19:District level sports festival which was being held at Bakshi Stadium and Indoor stadium has concluded with closing ceremony at Indoor Stadium.
It was three day event which had started on 17th September and it witnessed huge participation from both youth and kids. About 1100 boys and girls participated in various sports activities.
Various games like Football, Volleyball, Kabbadi, Kho Kho, Tug of War, Martial Arts- Wushu, Judo, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, athletic events viz sprint races, Javellin, Discuss and Shot put. UFA emerged as winner in Football. In Volleyball, boys of Scholars School and girls of Legend School were victorious. The team which won in Kho Kho is from ACME. RCC Club were declared winner in Tug of War. In martial art under various forms and weight categories more than 400 boys and girls participated.
Closing cum prize distribution ceremony was held at Indoor stadium. IGP Kashmir Shri Munir Ahmed Khan was chief guest on the occasion. DIG CKR Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat, SSP Srinagar Shri Imtiaz Ismail Parray and other Police and Civil officers were also present.
IGP Shri Munir Ahmad Khan distributed prizes among the winners. The winners and runner ups of the event would represent District Srinagar in range level games to be held in coming days.
These sports actvities are being organized to provide a platform to the youth to nurture their talent and channelize their energy in positive direction.
