Ganderbal, Jan 14: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), 13 Bn organised a colourful musical cultural exchange festival along with free medical and Veterinary health camp at Bakura Ganderbal.
As per the statement issued by the SSB 13 Bn, on Completion of 75 Years of Independence this year in 2023, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava” is being celebrated all across the country by organizing various events viz. ‘Swachh Barat Abhiyan’ Awareness about ban on utilizing single use plastic, culture exchange programmes, Band Shows at prominent place during, Culinary activities to showcase the culinary practices of pairing states, Quiz competition/debate competition/speech on the theme of National integration etc. and in the series of organizing such events, 13 Bn, SSB has organized “Cultural exchange programme” at Middle school, Bakoora, with participation of personnel of 13 Bn, SSB and youth from Bakoora, Warphow, Dignibal and other surrounding villages. Mr. Abdul Majeed, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Bakoora, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Besides, organizing cultural exchange programme, Medical Civic and Veterinary Civic Action programme were also organized by the 13 Bn, SSB Dignibal. During which Dr. Gaurav Misra, Comdt. (Medical) of 13 Bn, and Dr. Tanvi, Madical officer of PHC, Shuhama and Dr. Raja Aziz Ahmed, Veterinary Collage, Shuhama have attended people and Cattles respectively from across Dignibal, Bakoora, Warphow and surrounding villages to diagnose their health. All the said activities were planned meticulously under the supervision of Sh. Kamal Kant, Commandant, 13 Bn SSB, Dignibal.
The programme was begun formally at 1100 Hrs. on 14/01/2023 with inauguration/Ribbon cutting jointly by Sh. Kamal Kant, Commandant and Abdul Majeed, Sarpanch which was followed by opening address by Sh. Som Nath, Second-in-command, 13 Bn, SSB and subsequently followed by cultural programme. During which Bhangra Dance presented by CT/GD Sarabjeet Singh and team and local Kashmiri dance was presented by Zeshan, Umar, Shahid, Tauseef, Danish and Shahid of Bakura village. Subsequently, Marathi dance and South Indian dance presented by CT/GD Ramdas B. Waingaide and CT/GD K. Kadiresh respectively. Finally the cultural programme was culminated with the presentation of the award with cash prizes of Rs. 2100/- to the local youths who presented cultural programme and the personnel of SSB were awarded by the Commendation certificates.
Abdul Majeed, Sarpanch of Bakura Village while speaking during the programme has appreciated the initiative undertaken by 13 Bn, SSB Dignibal towards conduct of such programmes which helps people to be aware of the culture of other parts of the country and also appreciated the MCA/VCA which are very beneficial for the upliftment of the local population.
During the MCA/VCA large number of people and animals were treated by medical officer and veterinary officer respectively. Further, the Sarpanch also urged 13 Bn, SSB Dignibal to conduct such programme more in future.
Finally, the programme was over with Vote of thanks by Sh. Virender Singh Choudhary, Dy. Comdt. of 13 Bn, SSB Dignibal. He while speaking thanked each and everyone who had participated in the event and reiterated that SSB with It’s Motto “Service, Security and Brotherhood” will keep on undertaking such activities in future as well which could contribute in the upliftment of the people.
