Ganderbal,05 Nov (KNZ): In his continuing endeavor to reach out to the public , SSP Ganderbal, Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS today held a darbar with general public of Ganderbal at Police Station Kheerbawani.
Large number of respectables ,
senior citizens , businessmen and social workers besides Vice Chairman DDC Ganderbal , Bilal Ahmad Sheikh and Chairman BDC Sherpathri, Ali Mohammad Ganaie participated in the darbar.
While addressing the darbar, SSP Ganderbal hailed the contribution of the people of Ganderbal in general and those from Kheerbawani area in particular towards peace and harmony and highlighted their positive role on various important annual occasions like Mela Kheerbawani and Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and assured them of full cooperation from police .The participants raised several burning issues related to the development and unemployment besides other issues related to public convenience and policing like drug menace and social crimes.
While many issues were redressed on spot by the SSP and directions were given to the officers for the same , assurance was also given regarding other developmental matters that they will be reported to the appropriate forum for redressal.
SSP Ganderbal further stated that Ganderbal police is acting strictly against anti-national and anti-social elements especially drug peddlers and miscreants to provide secure and peaceful atmosphere in the district and appealed general public and civil society members to come forward and help police in identifying such elements so that strict action under law is initiated against them.
Other senior police officers including Addl. SP Ganderbal Shri Firoz Yehya-JKPS, DySP Hqrs.Ganderbal, Abdul Maajid-JKPS , SHO PS Kheerbawani Inspector Syed Sajjad Hussain were also present in the awami darbar . The meeting ended on a positive note and thanks-giving from public and more such meetings will be undertaken in future.KNZ
