Kupwara, Nov 07 (KS) : In a historic ceremony, a magnificent statue of the revered warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was unveiled in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.

As per News Agency Kashmir Scroll, the event was attended by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra’s Cultural Affairs Minister, Sudhir Mungantiwar, along with Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.

Speaking at the occasion as per News Agency Kashmir Scroll LG Manoj Sinha expressed his congratulations to ‘Amhi Punekar’ and the 41 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army for this remarkable initiative.

He emphasized that the grand statue of Shivaji Maharaj would serve as an inspiration for both the people and the courageous soldiers of the army.

Shivaji Maharaj, the legendary warrior and the architect of Swarajya, not only displayed formidable military prowess but also embodied the highest standards of morality and respect for all religions and sects LG said.

He emerged as a natural leader and created a new chapter in Indian history through his awe-inspiring victories against his adversaries.

Through his military strategies and unwavering values, Shivaji mobilized millions of Indians and established the Maratha empire, gaining sovereignty over vast territories. His timeless principles continue to hold relevance even today, serving as a guiding light towards social equality and peaceful co-existence LG further said in his speech.(KS)
