Baramulla CNS, June 10: A Baramulla court has refused to grant bail to two drivers arrested for allegedly black marketing huge quantities of Government Rice saying that tampering with evidence could not be ruled out & there are every apprehension that the accused persons can misuse the concession of bail.
Sources told CNS that Special deputy Magistrate Sub Judge Court Pattan Sajad ur Rehman has rejected the bail plea of two truck drivers Jahangir Ahmad & Mohmmad Jamal of Kupwara who were apprehended by Pattan Police near Zangam on 31-05-2021while black marketing of govt rice and accordingly a case FIR no 152/2021 u/s 420,407IPC was also registered against both drivers, both the trucks with 360 bags of govt rice were arrested by police.
According to CNS legal correspondent Saleem Yusuf Bail plea of both the accused truck drivers was strongly objected by ld APP Sub judge court Pattan on the grounds that the accused sought to be released were going to sell government ration by way of cheating and misappropriation and the investigation of the case is at initial stage.
Meanwhile Court while rejecting the bail application of both the drivers said that considering the character of the accused persons and the manner in which the act has been committed and possibility of tempering with prosecution witness.
“I am the considered opinion that there are every apprehension that the accused may misuse the bail if granted” court said in its decision.(CNS)
