Srinagar, September 17: As a part of nationwide sanitation campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva Hay” J&K Police has extended its drive to world famous Dal Lake, Srinagar.
During the day over a hundred of Jawans and officers of IRP 16th Bn. Led by its Commandant cleared disposals of raw sewage, polythene bags, soda canes and other wasted material from the Dal Lake and its adjoining area. A number of boats were also pressed into service in order to clear the garbage from the lake.
The cleanliness drive in the Dal Lake is being carried out in order to restore its glory so that tourists can enjoy beauty of the famous Dal Lake which is an important attraction of the tourists.
The directions for preservation and cleaning of the world famous Dal Lake was already conveyed by DGP J&K Dr. S.P Vaid in a high level meeting held on September 13, 2017 at PHQ.
