Srinagar, Dec 15, KNT: Fire and Emergency Services Department Sunday saved a hut from getting substantial damage in a fire incident.

On Sunday shortly after the culmination of Fajar Prayers a couple of joggers after reaching Joggers Park Rajbagh noticed smoking coming out from the locked hut. They immediately called the Fire and Emergency Services Department.

Joggers told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that without wasting any time a fire tender from Gawkadal Fire Station arrived at the scene and doused the flames.

The fire fighters broke the lock of the hut and controlled the fire. They found the it was the electric blanket that had caused the fire.

Though all the goods and beddings damaged in the incident but the structure was saved due to prompt response of fire fighters.

The Walkers appreciated the job done by the fire fighters and thanked them for their swift response. They appealed to the Floriculture Department to depute some dedicated staff for the upkeep of this picturesque park.

They said dogs frequently enter Into the park and dig it and disfigure it’s beauty while employees do nothing to maintain the park. [KNT]
