T20 World Cup 2022, PAK vs SA Highlights: Shadab Khan was the star of Pakistan’s 33-run win (DLS) over South Africa in Sydney which has kept them alive in the T20 World Cup. Chasing 186, South Africa’s chase was interrupted by rain and then they were left to chase a revised target of 142 from 14 overs. South Africa finished with 108/9 with Shaheen Afridi taking 3/14 while Shadab finishing with 2/16.
Pakistan Live to Fight Another Day
Pakistan produced an all-round display against South Africa in a Super 12 clash at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday. After batting first, Pakistan found themselves in some early trouble as they lost three wickets for 40 inside the Powerplay. However, Iftikhar Ahmed stitched vital partnerships with Mohammad Nawaz and then Shadab Khan to help them recover. Irftikhar made 51 off 35 while Shadab scored his maiden T20I fifty – 52 off 22 – and helped Pakistan finish with a challenging 185/9 in 20 overs. Anrich Nortje was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa finishing with figures of 4/41. In reply, South Africa lost Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw inside three overs. A brief recovery followed with Temba Bavuma at the forefront but Shadab then got rid of South Africa captain and Aiden Markram in his first over to leave them struggling at 66/4. Soon rain arrived and then the target was revised to 142 in 14 Overs. South Africa thus needed to score 77 runs in 30 deliveries. And they managed 108/9 in 14 Overs with Pakistan securing a 33-run win via DLS method. They are still alive in the semifinals race
