SRINAGAR, DEC 23 : Aspirants who have provisionally qualified examination conducted by Service Selection Board (SSB) for teacher posts in Kashmir on Sunday demanded final selection list be issued without any further delay.

Scores of teacher aspirants from Kashmir districts assembled here at Press Enclave and chanted slogans against the Board authorities.

Holding placards and banners in in their hands which reads, “Teachers are backbone of nation”, “We want immediate release of final selection list” and “Fast track recruitment is still pending”.

The protesters said that the SSB sought applications for filling 2154 teacher posts including General Knowledge, Urdu and Science teacher posts for the state under SRO 202 in December 2017.

Javid Ahmad Naqash, one of the protesting aspirtant from Srinagar, said SSB conducted district-wise exams in April and May 2018.

In August to September this year, the board released provisional lists of aspirants who qualified the exam, he said.

“We have already completed other formalities after the SSB declared the provisional selection list for the qualified aspirants. Now, we are waiting for the final list,” Naqash told reporters here.

“One month ago we approached Advisors to the governor B B Vyas and Khurshid Ganai. They assured us the final selection list will be declared by December-end,” Peer Saqib Shafi, another aspirtant from Ganderbal said,

Protesters appealed Governor SP Malik and Chairman of Service Selection Board to look into the matter and issue final selection list without any delay.
