Ganderbal :On the directions of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal Mrs Nusrat Ali Hakak and under the Chairmanship of Mr Essar-Ul-Nabi, (Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan)Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan observed “World Social Justice Day “ at Zonal Education Office Kangan on 20-02-2024 .
The programme was attended by,Angawadi workers, Supervisors, teachers, Resource Person Advocate Sajad Ahmad Khan, Staff Members and PLVs of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan , President ST Wing Human Rights and Anti Corruption forum Jammu & Kashmir Mr. Farooq Ahmad Khatana and general public.
Resource Person Advocate Sajad Ahmad Khan delivered speech on the topic. While speaking on the occasion he said that world Social Justice Day is celebrated on 20 February every year.
The day is observed to elevate awareness about social inequality and to educate the people about the importance of removing poverty, sexual identity and biological prejudice, religious bigotry.
He said that on November 26 2007,the united Nations General Assembly declared that starting from the sixty third session of the General Assembly, 20 February will be celebrated annually as the World Day of Social Justice.
He said that the idea behind celebrating world Day of Social Justice is that improving social justice should be the primary goal of al national and international policies.
He also said that social development and social justice cannot be attained in the absence of peace and security. He also highlighted various schemes of NALSA aimed to elevate poverty from the society.
Teacher Qazi Mushtaq Ahmad and President ST Wing Human Rights and Anti Corruption Forum Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Farooq Ahmad Khatana also delivered speeches on the said subject.
