Jammu, Jan 19: In a significant breakthrough, the police team of PP Sidhra successfully solved a theft case and recovered stolen property worth ₹1 lakh.

On 18/01/2024, Mohd Fareed, son of Abdul Gani Wani, a resident of Asrarabad, Sidhra, lodged a written complaint at Police Post Sidhra. He reported that unknown thieves had broken into his brother’s house in Asrarabad and stolen 2 pairs of silver bangles, 1 pair of silver earrings, and a gold necklace.

Based on the complaint, a case (FIR No. 13/2025) was registered under sections 331(4) and 305(a) of the BNS Act at Police Station Nagrota, and an investigation was initiated.

During the investigation, a suspect, identified as Sartaj Ali alias Kaka, son of Mohd Shafi, also a resident of Asrarabad, Sidhra, was apprehended. Upon interrogation, the suspect disclosed information leading to the recovery of all the stolen items, which were seized as evidence.

The accused has been arrested and remains in police custody as further investigation continues.
