Jammu: A major encounter is going on in the forest areas of Nagrota along highway to Kashmir after a militant attack.
At least three militant has been reported killed and one cop of Jammu and Kashmir Police injured in the encounter which is going on not far from the 16 Corps of Indian Army. The attack happened close to the Ban toll plaza on Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
Though reports of exact nature of encounter are still emerging, sources said militants struck near the toll plaza and then slipped into the nearby forest areas. Police and Army are believed to have dominated the area in the ensuing encounter leading to killing of at least one terrorist.
This is first major terror attack in Jammu region after the Sunjwan military station attack of 2018.
