Ganderbal:- A road mishap on November 29 last month has claimed the life of Atiqa Akther, a 42-year-old government teacher from Harran, Ganderbal.

Officials said that the accident occurred in the Prang area of Kangan on 29 Nov last month, leaving Atiqa and her 14-year-old son critically injured.

Officials said that the despite immediate medical attention at SKIMS, Soura, Atiqa’s condition worsened, and she succumbed to her injuries on Monday. Her son remains under medical care, and the community holds its breath for his speedy recovery they added.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident. Authorities have assured that further action will be taken as part of their ongoing inquiry.

Atiqa Akhtar was a dedicated government teacher posted at Check wussan kangan, wife of Dr. Farooq Ahmad of Haran Ganderbal, and sister of Master Ab Rashid Ahangar of Kangan. As Atiqa’s was laid to rest, the atmosphere was filled with moist eyes and heartfelt prayers. The community came together to bid a final farewell to the dedicated teacher and caring mother, whose untimely demise has left a void in the lives of all who knew her.
