Ganderbal, February 22(KNZ): In a major crackdown on fraudulent activities during the driving license test, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) in Ganderbal identified and took strict action against two individuals appearing as proxy candidates for applicants.

During the verification process on February 19, 2025, officials caught an individual appearing on behalf of another applicant. Investigations revealed that the proxy candidate already held a valid driving license (DL No. JK1620240002801). In response to this fraudulent act, the licensing authority cancelled the proxy candidate’s driving license with immediate effect and blocked the learning license of the original applicant (Learning License No. JK16/0005874/2024).

A similar case surfaced during the driving license test on February 12, 2025, when officials discovered another individual appearing as a proxy candidate. Further investigation confirmed that this person already possessed a valid driving license (DL No. JK1620240002515). Consequently, the authorities cancelled their driving license and blocked the learning license of the original applicant (Learning License No. JK16/0908721/2024). MVD Inspector Manzoor Qureshi played a crucial role in uncovering the fraud and ensuring strict action was taken against the offenders.

An official told Kashmir News Zone that officials have strongly condemned such acts, emphasizing that attempting to deceive authorities in such a manner poses serious risks to public safety. They reiterated their commitment to ensuring the integrity of the licensing process and warned of strict action against any future attempts at fraudulent representation.

MVD Inspector Manzoor Qureshi has urged applicants to follow legal procedures and warned that any malpractice in obtaining a driving license will result in severe legal and administrative consequences. (KNZ)
