Ganderbal 31 May【KNZ】:In order to achieve the aim of Government of India, that is, to provide quality education to every child, by ensuring universal access, equity, universal retention and achievement, the state of J&K has launched Computer Aided Learning (CAL) programme under SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) implemented by an organization, UNISED.

UNISED (Unit Of Science And Educational Development,a society of IIT Kanpur Alumni’s) is presently working in 11 districts across the state of J&K (5 in Kashmir division, 5 in Jammu division and Kargil).

Currently, the society is implementing the CAL project in 119 schools across the state. CAL is primarily introduced in rural government elementary schools covering the classes 1 to 8 to attract and retain children and also in the process, enhance the quality of learning. It’s the first such project that is being implemented in government schools of J&K.

With respect to this, the society, on 28th and 29th May, 2018, organized a Two days teachers training program at BMS Bagoo Rampora, Ganderbal. A total of 22 teachers from 11 schools of Jammu, where CAL centers have been installed, attended the program. During these two days, the teachers were given hands-on experience of all the installed equipments.

A teacher from BMS Gangerhama, Mr. Shahzad Ahmad, in his feedback regarding the training said, “It feels great that my school is equipped on modern lines, making way for the students to excel.I am happy to be part of this training program. The trainers encouraged all of us during the entire training session.”

Another teacher, Same-ul-Raja, from MS syed Basti surfraw, said, “the training was very good. The trainers delivered all the things, required to run the CAL lab, in a very easy and understandable manner.”

However, this is just a beginning, UNISED aims to cover all the government schools spread across the state.【KNZ】
