Ganderbal:Continuing its efforts to eradicate the Drug menace from the society. Police Party led by DO Nagbal during naka checking intercepted a vehicle at Buserbugh, during checking 60 gms of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the accused which was seized on the spot.
The accused was identified as Irshad Ahmad khan S/o Samad khan R/o Asham Safapora. The accused has been also taken into the Police custody.
The Case has been registered at PS Ganderbal Vide FIR No.15/22 U/S 8/27 NDPS Act and further investigation has been taken up.
Police Party of Police Post Shadipora led by DO Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal laid a surprise naka at Paribal Chundina road. During checking police party observed suspicious movement of a person carrying a bag in his hand, who while seeing police naka tried to run away but police party acting swiftly apprehended him tactically. During his personal search it was found that he is carrying Contraband substance.
On preliminary questioning, the said individual disclosed his identity as Bashir Ah Malla S/O Mohd Sultan R/O Tul-Mohalla Shalabugh and approx. 02 Kgs of Cannabis powder like substance was recovered from his possession which was seized on spot.
In this regard Case FIR No.16/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at PS Ganderbal and investigation into matter has also been taken up.
The war against drugs by Ganderbal Police will continue and efforts to eradicate this severe menace has been appreciated by general public.
All are requested to co-operate with Police in identifying such elements so that the society shall be freed from menace of drugs.
