Ganderbal, Dec 13: Ganderbal Police under its consistent action against drug peddlers, continues naka checking across the district on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS.
Such a naka was laid by Police party from Police Post Shadipora, during naka checking at sumbal bridge, stopped a vehicle bearing no. JK07- 0744 and carried out search of the said vehicle.
During the search, 300 grams of charas was recovered from the possession of two persons namely 1. Shahnawaz Ahmad War, S/O: Ghulam Nabi War, 2. Manzoor Ahmad Raina, S/O Abdul Majeed Raina, both residents of Rezan Kullan, Ganderbal.
The contraband consignment was going to be sold to youth of the area to make them drug addicts.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 248/2020 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been taken up.
General public have hailed the Police action and appreciated this type of action against drug menace and wished this to continue in future also.
