Srinagar: Government forces allegedly set ablaze two houses of active militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, the affected families said on Thursday.
The families alleged that government forces set ablaze houses of two active militants at Amshipora and Nazneenpora villages in dead of last night.
The family members of ShahJahan Mir son of Abdul Hamid Mir, alleged that government forces set a blaze their house at Amshipora during the night. ShahJahan is an active militant since a year.
Family members said that at around 1 am, government forces arrived in the village and set a blaze their house when they were in sleep but they managed to escape unhurt.
They added that everything in the house was destroyed in the fire.
Station House Officer Hirpora, told Kashmir Reader that he was trying to collect details of Amshipora incident.
In another incident at Nazneenpora village, forces allegedly set a blaze house of another Hizb militant, Syed Naveed in the middle of night damaging it badly, the family members of Naveed said.
When contacted Station House Officer, Keegam, Arif Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that he was not authorized to comment on the incident. He added that he has not received any information about any fire incident in his jurisdiction.(KR)
