Srinagar,Sep 16 (KS) : An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight between security forces and militants in Uri Hathlanga area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that one militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, an official told Kashmir Scroll that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated and an encounter started.(KS)
