Urs of Ameer-e-Kabeeer celebrated in Khanqah’s across Kashmir.

Srinagar KNZ:- The 652nd Urs of Hazat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) popularly known as Shah-e-Hamdani or Amir-e-Kabir was observed at Khanqah Moula in old Srinagar city on Tuesday with religious fervor and enthusiasm.
At Khanqah-e-Mualla in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairperson Yasin Malik offered prayers and prayed for peace and stability.“If Kashmiris want to transform their lives and change their destiny, they will have to move close to these great people and follow the teachings of these noble souls in letter and spirit,” he said.
Every year, devotees in Kashmir observe his Urs and throng to Khanqah Moula in thousands. On Tuesday as usual thousands of devotees throng the shrine where they recited verses of Holy Quran, which was followed by Duaiya Majlis. The Urs is observed on 6 Zil Hijjah every year.
Islamic scholars shed light on the life and achievements of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA). They expressed hope that the teachings of Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) shall remain alive in all times to come.
Born in Hamadan, and buried in Khatlan Tajikistan, Ameer-e-Kabeer played a major role in spreading of Islam in Kashmir and he has also influenced the culture of the Kashmir valley.
The Urs was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Waqaf Board.
