Baramulla, CNS, 30-Nov;; Forest department has seized vehicles carrying illicit in Hewan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
DFO Baramulla Parvaiz Ahmad Wani told CNS that during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, officials laid a naka at Hewan, during which two suspicious vehicles were stopped and it was found that vehicles were carrying timber measuring about 133 feet.
The illicit timber was later seized along with the vehicles .However, the drivers identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Ganaie of Delina AP Sangri Colony Baramulla and Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh resident of Reban Sopore managed to escape from the spot.
Meanwhile, Police have registered FIR under no. 64/2020 u/s 379 IPC and 26 Indian Forest Act in Police Station Sheeri Baramulla and searches have been initiated against the accused drivers.(CNS)
