Srinagar, May 11: An extreme venomous snake gave security personnel anxious moments when it was spotted on the lawns of former Chief Minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah’s official residence here, officials said on Saturday.
Official sources told GNS a team from the wildlife department was deputed to the residence who caught the snake on Thursday.
“A Wildlife SOS team in Srinagar rescued the highly dangerous snake, spotted at Omar Abdullah’s residence on May 9 and it was released in Dachigam,” they said.
“The Viper, locally called ‘Gunas’ is extremely venomous,” they said, adding, “The snake was rescued by rescuer Aliya Mir.”
Pertinently, in 2017, a cobra was found at the residence of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu. (GNS)
