Ganderbal:- Villagers, Civil Society, PRI Members of Gund Ganderbal, on Wednesday showing resentment against the district administration for shifting fire service station Gund to Sonamarg for winter months.
Villagers and civil society members said that the fire service Station Gund was in Gund area since the last many decades and it was unacceptable for them to get it shifted to another place.
They were opposing and showed resentment against administration for shifting Fire Service station Gund to Sonamarg for winter months without taking residents of Gund Area into confidence and leaving this locality at risk of fire incidents.
They said it is a grave injustice and a big conspiracy towards the people of Gund and adjoining areas. This is extremely unethical on part of the administration to take the decision to shift the fire service station to Sonamarg.
Sarpanch of the village Gund A Zahoor Ahmad said that they won’t accept and tolerate this thing. We need it at our place and establishment a new or separate Fire service station for the Sonamarg area.
Civil Society appealed to the district administration and F&ES officials to rethink the decision and do the needful for the people of the village.
Residents said our demand should be addressed as soon as possible otherwise we will take to roads and it will be the responsibility of the administration for any consequences.
However according to an Order issued by Department of Fire and Emergency Service reads that Fire & Emergency Services Department has been directed vide Divisional
Commissioner Kashmir letter No: Divcom/PS/Misc/2022-23/2129 dated: 12-11-2022 to shift Fire & Emergency Station Gund to Sonmarg for winter months
