Bandipora(Sumbal) 08 April (KNZ) : Police on Wednesday arrested two dozens of people who had gathered for shab e prayers in Jamia Masjid Pethpora Nesbal in Sumbal town for violation of prohibitory orders issued by Adminstration.
Top Police officer while confirming that some locals informed and requested to disperse asembly in Mosque, subsequently the team of police officers including ASP Bandipora Shri Ashiq Tak ,SDPO Sumbal Shri Saqib Gani, SHO Sumbal Shri Muneeb ul Islam accompanied by SDM Sumbal Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari reached the spot and found over three dozen people who had assembled there for prayers.
Some local youth resorted to stone pelting .A case under relevant section has been registered in PS Sumbal.
The move was hailed by local people in the area.Police has also requested all the Masjid Committees to cooperate with the police and civil administration and warned of strict legal action if there were any reports of any social political or religious gatherings.KNZ
