Kashmir receives light rains, Srg-Leh reopens traffic

Srinagar, April 19: The metrological department Kashmir on Sunday said that they are expecting that weather would remain dry and clear from Monday onwards.
As per the weathermen, the weather would remain partly generally cloudy at most places of J&K and a brief spell of thunder with rain can be possible due to local development till Sunday evening.
However, there is no forecast of any major weather activity next week.
The official said Kashmir recorded moderate rainfall till Sunday, Srinagar recorded 2 mm, Qazigund -4mm, Pahalgam 2mm, Kupwara -20 mm, Kokernag -2 mm, Gulmarg -8 mm, Konibal (Pulwama) -3mm, while plains in Jammu also received lights rains.
However, the traffic on Jammu-Srinagar was restored on Sunday following the landslides along the highway. As per the official vehicles carrying essential commodities would be allowed to ply on the highway on Monday.
Meanwhile after six days, traffic was resumed on Srinagar Leh highway, following the fresh snowfall along the road on Friday.
