Temperatures Expected to Decrease, Leading to Cooler Weather Across the Region, Says Independent Weatherman

Srinagar, Oct 05 (KF): A dry spell is expected to dominate the region over the next ten days, with only a few chances of brief rain showers in certain areas. According to the latest weather forecast, most days will remain dry, starting with October 5, when isolated areas might experience light showers towards late afternoon or evening.

Independent Weatherman Faizan Arif Keng, while sharing details with Kashmir Front (KF), stated that the ongoing dry spell is expected to lead to a further drop in water levels in streams and rivers. He noted that on October 6, dry conditions will prevail, though one or two locations may receive a short rain shower. Similarly, October 7 is expected to remain completely dry, with the same conditions anticipated on October 8, although brief rain is possible in a few spots.

For the period between October 9 and 10, mostly dry weather is predicted, but some areas could witness a short rain spell, with a 50% chance of showers. The forecast continues to show dry weather from October 11 through October 14, with no significant rainfall expected during these days.

Keng further emphasized that both day and night temperatures are projected to decrease, resulting in cooler weather for the region.

Notably, the region concluded the 2023 monsoon season with a significant rainfall deficit of 26%, receiving only 408.5 mm of rainfall compared to the normal 549.1 mm. This shortfall affected most districts, with Srinagar recording a 30% deficit. (KF)
