Jammu, Feb 6: Days after Kulgam teenager alleged a nexus between Politicians and Police behind her kidnapping followed by her repeated sexual abuse in the winter capital, there has been no attempt by the Police to identify the men in khaki who were part of the sleaze.
The ball is in the court of the state police to come clean on the grave allegations leveled by the victim as she has clearly mention that one of her exploiters, who abused her in a city hotel was an SHO and that she could identify him eventhough she did not know his name.
“It is imperative for police to get the black sheep identified to keep up the integrity and credibility of the organization,” said Dheeraj Gupta, an office bearer of a Jammu based social organization. “Bosses of Jammu police must get an identification parade of all the SHOs posted in the city conducted before the victim so that the culprit could be identified” he added.
While at least three accused have been arrested by the Police and further investigations are being conducted in the case which gain infamy after mention of legislator and police officer cropped up during preliminary questioning of the victim, no big names have yet come to the fore, raising aspersions that efforts were on to cover up the sordid saga.
Meanwhile, insiders informed that since the entire matter has been brought into the notice of the Chief Minister, it would not be easy for the Police to sweep the muck under the carpet.
