Srinagar, Sep 7: (GNS) A woman from central Kashmir’s Budgam, who tied the knot yesterday, died today under mysterious conditions at her new home in south Kashmir’s Shopian.
Reports reaching GNS said the woman Nusrat Jan of Pakherpora, Budgam had married Fayaz Ahmad of Chaigund village of Keegam, Shopian. The wedding took place on Thursday.
The newly-wed was taken to the district hospital Pulwama by her in-laws on Friday but was declared brought dead.
Medical Superintendent Pulwama district hospital Dr Abdul Rashid Parra told GNS that the woman was brought dead.
“We later tried to conduct the post-mortem, however, the family (in-laws) didn’t allow us,” Parra said.
SHO Keegam, Shopian, Arif Amin told GNS that police has taken cognizance of the case and is trying to contact the deceased’s parents.
He said if the woman’s parents have any apprehension and allow us to conduct the post-mortem; we will do it and take further investigations accordingly.
