Srinagar, September 08:(GNS) A youth was shot dead by unknown gunmen near Naseem Bagh area of Hazratbal in Srinagar city on Saturday afternoon.
Reports reaching GNS said that some unknown gunmen fired upon the youth resulting inhis on spot death.
On the basis of identity card recovered from the slain has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad student of Islamic University.
SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray told GNS that police team reached the spot immediately and recovered the body for legal medico formalities.
SSP further said that one pistol along with two magazines were recovered from the possession of the deceased.
He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation were taken up to ascertain the incident.(GNS)
