Reviews progress on Govt. Medical College, Inspects DH B’la
Baramulla, 09 January: Advisor K. Vijay Kumar today visited Baramulla and inspected Govt. Medical College Building taken up at a cost of Rs. 139 Crore in November, 2016. An amount of Rs. 27.75 Crore has been expended on it so far.
The Advisor was accompanied by Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Atal Dullo, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Director Health Services Kashmir and other senior officers.
The Advisor reviewed the progress of the Medical College and discussed threadbare with Management and concerned officers on various issues. He expressed his satisfaction over the progress and hailed the efforts of the hospital management particularly superintendent District Hospital Dr. Syed Masood and Principal Medical College Dr. Javaid Chowdary. He directed the concerned to speed up pace of work and ensure the completion of the project with in stipulated time frame which is November,2020 .However, he hoped that by virtue of the tremendous efforts, the project will be completed by 2019.the Advisor said that the project is a show of facilities and the patients will be provided quality medicare facilities after its completion.
The Advisor also inspected various sections and facilities of the District hospital and ascertained. He inspected that sections which include special New Born Care Unit, Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre, Lecture Hall, Dialysis Centre, Physiology Lab, Dissection Hall, Reconciliation Bay and Administrative section. In Dialysis Centre, the Advisor talked to the patients and enquired about their available facilities. The superintendent Dr. Masood on the occasion apprised the Advisor about all the facilities being provided to the patients.
