Reviewing the preparedness with senior officers of the J&K Police, Army, security forces, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and the civil administration, the Lieutenant Governor lauded their efforts and asked them to treat every pilgrim as a “divine guest” while ensuring a safe, smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage.
“With the holy pilgrimage already crossing the three lakh mark in just 12 days, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for pilgrims is our top priority,” Sinha said.
He directed the authorities to ensure flawless registration, comfortable accommodation, efficient transportation and seamless travel arrangements for devotees visiting the holy cave shrine.
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the need to showcase Jammu as a major spiritual and tourism destination by organising sightseeing tours to important religious and tourist sites across the Jammu division. He further called for active promotion of the region’s handicraft and handloom products among visiting pilgrims.
“It is our goal that whenever Baba Amarnath pilgrims return home, they should carry a piece of Jammu in the form of beautiful local handmade products and unforgettable memories. Together, we resolve to make this year’s Yatra truly historic,” Sinha said.
He also reviewed the deployment of Food Safety Officers at community kitchens, arrangements at reception and lodging centres, on-the-spot registration, transportation facilities and security measures, directing officials to optimise manpower deployment to efficiently manage the growing rush of pilgrims.
The Lieutenant Governor instructed officials to closely monitor weather forecasts issued by the India Meteorological Department and remain prepared to respond swiftly to any weather-related situation during the pilgrimage.
During the review meeting, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar informed the Lieutenant Governor about legal action initiated against individuals allegedly involved in fraudulent practices. Sinha directed that strict administrative and legal action be taken against anyone, including officials, found involved in misconduct.
